ABOUT
Sam Blizzard is an award-winning professional pianist, keyboardist, arranger, music director, and band leader based in Nashville, Tennessee.
Sam's musical journey began about fifteen years ago, when he started to work towards perfecting his skills as a pianist, specifically in the area of classical piano. He was awarded many accolades through numerous competitions every year, and his competitive nature proved to bring him to the top of his competition. After spending several years working to become a better classical pianist, Sam began to gain experience in other styles of music, primarily in jazz. He played in several different jazz groups for about four years, taking him to several recognizable places in the greater Houston, Texas area. After spending years growing in both the classical and jazz genres, Sam made the decision to move to Nashville, TN and study Commercial Piano at Belmont University. He joined Belmont's Jazz Band I, Jazz Small Group I, Jazzmin (vocal jazz group), and other ensembles at the school, as well as playing weekly for Chapel services and playing for numerous artists from the school on a consistent basis. He received highly advanced instruction from professors who have vast experience in the industry in many different styles of music. Sam graduated in May 2024, and his passion to provide music for others (whether artists or otherwise) has continued to grow and blossom.
Since graduation, Sam has spent a considerable amount of time expanding his musical experience across a wide variety of musical styles, including contemporary Christian, worship, country, and more. Sam has also spent a lot of time working with several notable musical artists (detailed on "Credits" page) and providing music for a multitude of events (from weddings to corporate events, graduation parties, and everything in between). Sam is also blessed to be the Music Director at his church, Forest Hills Baptist Church.
Sam and his wife Hope reside in south Nashville, TN. As newlyweds, they love to spend time enjoying the outdoors together by going on walks, hiking, and spending time tending to Hope's favorite hobby of beekeeping (when they are not making music together). When Sam is not performing, recording, or working on an upcoming show, it is not uncommon to find Sam enjoying a new TV show, traveling to new places, or fishing.
